When it comes to sexual exploration, research has shown an individual’s openness is linked to the way they enjoy sex. According to Dr. Justin Lehmiller, a social psychologist at The Kinsey Institute, people with a higher degree of a trait called “openness to experience” have greater variability when it comes to their fantasies and are more willing to try new things.
Those that tend to be more open to experience also display higher sensitivity to stimuli and higher curiosity. We’ve discussed before the advantages of sexual curiosity, including the fact that through sexual novelty, we can expand the ways we experience pleasure.
