Around this time of the year, we are flooded with the promise of love and lust everywhere. We are often made to believe that we require a sexual partnership to enjoy pleasure. Truth is, we don’t.

We recently interviewed Avril Louise Clarke, aka @sexologygirl. Avril is a Clinical Sexologist, the Intimacy coordinator behind @erikalustfilms, and manages the non-profit project @thepconversation.

Sexual pleasure is a universal right and critical to sexual health and can be defined as the sexual enjoyment that we derive from shared or solitary erotic experiences, including thoughts, fantasies, dreams, emotions, and feelings.

Sexual curiosity, or the interest we show for sex and sexuality, allows us to reclaim our sexual pleasure. It happens because it compels us to get in contact with a much wider variety of stimuli, broadening your sexual repertoire and expanding our sexual possibilities

Loving your body in a society that constantly tells you are imperfect isn’t easy. Throughout our lives we learned that our worth depends upon our body image and if somehow, we figure out how to look like models and celebrities we will be loved, we will be happy.
